Whilst every effort has been taken to ensure accuracy, the gradient diagrams where some numbers have been hard to discern may be incorrect. Egginton Junction seen from the Tutbury side of the box. Egginton is a North Staffordshire Railway type 1 box dating from 1878 and contains a 47 lever McKenzie and Holland lever frame with just levers 1 - 14 retained on the operating floor. It currently works AB to Tutbury Crossing and TCB since June 1969 as a fringe .Hilton Junction is today probably the oldest operational signal box in Scotland, dating back to 1873. This view pre-dates the 1997 resignalling scheme which saw the elimination of Dunning box, and shows the monstrous train describer unit installed in 1980 when Edinburgh signalling centre took over the Ladybank branch line.
